On the morning of July 27, 2021, Co-sponsored by Chinese Society of Forestry, China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine Planting and Breeding Committee, Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, Daxing 'anling District Administrative Office and Daxing 'anling Forestry Corporation, the 2021 Forum on High Quality Development of Chinese Traditional Medicine Industry in Cold Regions was grandly opened in Jiagedaqi, Heilongjiang Province. Yang Chao, Chief Economist and Director of Forestry Reform Department of National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Han Ku, Deputy Secretary-General of Heilongjiang Provincial Government, and Zhang Baowei, Party Secretary, delivered speeches respectively. National Forestry and Grassland Administration Department of Forestry Reform, Chinese Society of Forestry, National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Relevant leaders of China Pharmaceutical Industry Alliance, provincial departments and bureaus, and leaders in charge of Chinese herbal medicine industry in various cities (prefectures) also attended the opening ceremony. In his speech, Yang Chao, chief economist of National Forestry and Grassland Administration and director of Forestry Reform Department, pointed out that ecological civilization is a major event in China, and China is taking Xi Jinping's ecological civilization thought as the guide, thoroughly implementing the new development concept, taking the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development as the guide, taking green and low-carbon development as the key, and unswervingly taking the road of ecological priority and green development. The National Forestry and Grassland Administration attaches great importance to the development of Chinese herbal medicine industry. In July 2020, the Party Committee made a decision-making arrangement to fight against the COVID-19 epidemic and vigorously develop the ecological planting of Chinese herbal medicine, and listed the development of Chinese herbal medicine industry in the Outline of the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Protection and Development of Forestry Grassland and special plans such as under-forest economy and economic forest, thus defining the planning objectives and key tasks of ecological cultivation of Chinese herbal medicine. Recently, our bureau has issued three general rules of ecological planting, wild tending and imitation of wild cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines in forest and grass to guide and promote the standardization of ecological cultivation of Chinese herbal medicines in forest and grass in China. This year, we will work with the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and other departments to formulate relevant policy documents to promote the development of forestry and grass medicine industry.

He pointed out that Daxing 'anling is not only an important ecological barrier in northern China, but also an important raw material for ecological products in China. Daxing 'anling is rich in medicinal materials resources, a gene bank of natural medicinal materials, a genuine medicinal material provenance base in northern China and a gathering place of wild medicinal materials in northern China. After the opening ceremony, a thematic report meeting was held. Chen Xingliang, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry, gave a wonderful report on Under-forest Economy and Development of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Lin Yuan. He systematically expounded the concept and development situation of under-forest economy, pointed out that the Chinese medicine industry in Lin Yuan is the most potential under-forest economy industry, combed the typical development models of Chinese medicine industry in Lin Yuan at present, and put forward some valuable suggestions for the development of Chinese medicine industry in Lin Yuan. Sun Liying, former deputy inspector of Science and Technology Department of National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Xiu Guohui, Director of Chinese Medicine Development Division of Agriculture and Rural Department of Heilongjiang Province, Wei Shengli, vice president of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, gave wonderful reports on the development opportunities and challenges faced by Chinese medicine enterprises under the implementation of the New Drug Administration Law and Chinese Medicine Law, Calling Cold Lumbricus Medicine to Build a Strong Province of Chinese Medicine Industry, and Trends and High-quality Development Strategies of Chinese Medicine Agriculture Industry.

On the afternoon of July 27th, an academic seminar on the development of Chinese medicine industry in Lin Yuan 2021 was held. The meeting was chaired by Liu Hesheng, Deputy Secretary-General of Chinese Society of Forestry. More than 70 experts and scholars from all over Lin Yuan attended the seminar. Gao Ming, Director of Industry Division of Heilongjiang Forestry and Grassland Bureau, delivered a speech. Gao Ming, Director of Industry Division, introduced the development status of forestry industry and the development ideas of forestry medicine industry in Heilongjiang Province. Chinese Society of Forestry Held the First Meeting of the Compilation Project of Chinese-English Common Words and Expressions of Forest and Grass

On March 5, 2021, the Chinese Society of Forestry organized the first online video conference on the compilation project of Chinese-English Common Words and Terms of Forest and Grass. Meng Xianlin, Director of International Department of National Forestry and Grassland Administration, and Chen Xingliang, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. More than 20 writers from Beijing Forestry University, Northeast Forestry University, Nanjing Forestry University, Zhejiang A&F University and Chinese Academy of Forestry attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Shen Jinlan, Deputy Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry.

In his speech, Director Meng emphasized the significance of the compilation work. He pointed out that in recent years, with the rapid development of science and technology, some new disciplines, new concepts and new theories are constantly emerging. Especially after the institutional reform in 2018, the connotation and extension of our country's forestry and grass work have been deepened and expanded, and accordingly many new terms related to forestry and grass work have appeared. However, at present, there are only a handful of professional dictionaries related to forestry and grassland, and there is no standard and authoritative vocabulary manual for international cooperation and exchange of forestry and grassland. In foreign exchanges, there are often some irregular, inconsistent and inaccurate words. It is very important to implement the requirements of General Secretary of Internship on "telling a good story of China and showing a true, three-dimensional and comprehensive China", improve the level of opening-up of forests and grasslands, and improve the accuracy and authority of words used in multi-bilateral exchanges and cooperation, negotiation and agreement signing, so as to achieve the effect of accurately transmitting and disseminating forest and grass information internationally. At the same time, Director Meng put forward specific opinions from several aspects, such as grasping the principle of word selection, controlling the scope of word selection, grasping the total amount and unifying the arrangement format.

At the meeting, Secretary-General Chen Xingliang introduced the preparation and schedule of the preparation work. He pointed out that vocabulary writing is a long-term basic work, which is of great significance. After receiving the task, the Society attached great importance to it, communicated and negotiated with China Forestry Publishing House in time, and worked out a practical implementation plan. The content framework and subject classification of the whole book were drawn up, and young and middle-aged backbone experts with certain academic attainments in the forestry and grass industry were invited to set up a writing committee. In the next step, the Society will adhere to a serious, scientific and rigorous attitude, and according to the overall arrangement of the compilation progress, advance the tasks of each stage in an orderly manner to ensure the smooth completion of the entire compilation work.

The compilation of Chinese-English Common Words and Terms of Forest and Grass is a task entrusted by the International Department of National Forestry and Grassland Administration and jointly organized and implemented by the Chinese Society of Forestry and China Forestry Publishing House. It is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.
