(1) The 7th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF

On November 9, 2019, the 7th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF themed “Innovation-oriented High-quality Development of Forestry and Grassland” was held in Nanjing Forestry University. Zhao Shucong, President of Chinese Society of Forestry, Peng Youdong, Deputy Director General of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Qu Futian, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, and other leaders attended the Conference.

The 10th Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award and the 8th Liang Xi Science Popularization Award were presented at the Conference. After the opening ceremony, Professor Cao Fuliang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Chinese Society of Forestry , Researcher Jiang Jianchun, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Vice President of Chinese Society of Forestry , Bai Yongfei, Researcher of Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Researcher Zeng Qingyin, Director of State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetics and Breeding respectively delivered keynote speeches themed Future Basic Research of Forestry Science and Research Direction of Disruptive Technology, Development of Biomass Energy and Carbon Material Technology, Ecological Problems, Countermeasures and Practice of Grassland in Northern China and Future Development Direction of Forest Genetics and Breeding Based on Demand Orientation. The Conference was presided over by Liu Shirong, vice president of Chinese Society of Forestry and President of Chinese Academy of Forestry.

During the Conference, the representatives present at the Conference watched the descriptive-style documentary drama “Bell Sound from Forest- Dedicated to Liang Xi, An Outstanding Forestry Pioneer in New China”, which was jointly produced by Chinese Society of Forestry and Nanjing Forestry University.

The Forestry Academic Conference of CSF, sponsored by Chinese Society of Forestry, is the largest, highest level and most influential forestry science and technology event in China. At the Conference, 36 parallel sessions including forest cultivation, genetics and breeding are established, 1300 special reports and more than 2100 paper abstracts are received and nearly 3000 participants are present.

 (2) The 6th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF

On November 15, 2018, the 6th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF was held in Central South University of Forestry and Technology. The Conference was jointly sponsored by Chinese Society of Forestry and Central South University of Forestry and Technology. “Innovation-oriented: New Development of Forestry in the New Era” is the theme of conference.

At the main sessions, Professor Cao Fuliang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Zhao Guiling, Director of Forestry and Grassland Science Project of Life Science Department of National Natural Science Foundation of China, Feng Jiaping, Standing Vice Chairman of China Forestry Industry Association, Professor Wu Yiqiang, Vice President of Central South University of Forestry and Technology, and Professor Zhou Jianbin of Nanjing Forestry University delivered keynote speeches.

The 9th Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award and the 7th Liang Xi Science Popularization Award were presented at the Conference.

In addition to the main sessions, 25 parallel sessions are established, more than 2300 forestry science and technology experts and scholars are gathered, and more than 1500 papers (abstracts) and more than 700 exchange reports are received. The research contents cover many subjects and research fields, such as woody plant genome and molecular biology, wood science and technology, chemical processing of forest products, forest management etc.

(3) The 5th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF

On May 6, 2017, in order to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Society of Forestry, the 5th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF themed “Innovation-based Century-Aged Forestry” was held in Beijing Forestry University. The Conference is jointly sponsored by Chinese Society of Forestry and Beijing Forestry University, and undertaken by the Secretariat of Chinese Society of Forestry and Beijing Forestry Society. Zhao Shucong, President of Chinese Society of Forestry , Peng Youdong, Deputy Director General of the State Forestry Administration, Shen Guofang, Li Wenhua, Ma Jianzhang, Yin Weilun, Cao Fuliang, Tang Shouzheng etc., Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other leading experts and more than 2600 representatives gathered at the venue to review the scientific and technological development process of forestry in the past 100 years, exchange the latest research results of forestry, and look forward to the future of Chinese forestry.

At the opening ceremony, Zhao Shucong, President of Chinese Society of Forestry , and Peng Youdong, Deputy Director General of the State Forestry Administration, delivered important speeches, and Wang Hongyuan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Forestry University, delivered a welcome speech.

At the beginning of the Conference, a special documentary film “Bell Sound from Century-aged Forestry” commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Chinese Society of Forestry was broadcast to review the centennial development process of Chinese Society of Forestry.

After the opening ceremony, Shen Guofang, Li Wenhua, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Tang Shouzheng, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Ma Jianzhang, Yin Weilun, Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Song Weiming, President of Beijing Forestry University, were invited to give special lectures respectively themed Ecological Protection, Restoration and Construction under the Theme of Ecological Civilization Construction in China, Development of Contemporary Ecology and Sustainable Forestry Management, Thoughts on Forest Management in China, Felid Protection and Research in China, Precise Water-saving Irrigation based on Life Water Demand, and Thoughts on Chinese Forestry Development Opportunities under the “Belt and Road Initiative”.

At the Conference, 29 parallel sessions are established and more than 1390 papers and more than 590 exchange reports are received. The research contents cover forest management, forest protection, soil and water conservation, wetland protection, forest ecology, forestry economy and many other subjects.

(4) The 4th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF

On September 28, 2016, the 4th Forestry Academic Conference of CSF and the 12th Presentation of Forestry Talent Award Annual Academic Conference of Chinese Society of Forestry was held in Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University. The theme was “Innovation-based Green Development”

Zhao Shucong, President of Chinese Society of Forestry, Zhang Yongli, Deputy Director General of the State Forestry Administration, and Cheng Weishan, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress, attended the Conference and delivered speeches. Chen Zhangliang, Member of the CPPCC Standing Committee and Vice President of Chinese Society of Forestry , Li Wenhua, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and other famous experts and scholars delivered special invited lectures.

At the Conference, 12 parallel sessions are established, and the research contents cover many subjects such as forest carbon-sink and forest ecological safety, as well as many issues such as forestry development and reform and forestry poverty alleviation.

At the Conference, the 7th National Excellent Scientific and Technical Worker Certificate, the 13th China Forestry Youth Science and Technology Award, the 7th Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award, and the 6th Liang Xi Youth Paper Award were issued.
