(1) 2019 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry

On November 22-24, 2019, the 2019 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry was held in Zhengzhou. Nearly 400 domestic and foreign experts and scholars, enterprise representatives and student representatives gathered together to make discussion and exchange views on the theme of “High Quality Development”.

At the Conference, the invited lecture, keynote lecture, economic forest industry development forum and graduate student forum were established. Guo Wenwu, Professor of Huazhong Agricultural University, and Wang Junhui, Director and Researcher of Science and Technology Department of Chinese Academy of Forestry, were invited to respectively deliver the invited lectures themed “Innovation of Citrus Cell Engineering Breeding Technology and Cultivation of New Varieties”, and “Innovation of Evaluation and Breeding System Construction of Picea Germplasm Resources”. The extensive and in-depth academic discussion and experience exchange were made based on the scientific research progress and production practice of economic forests, and around the hot spots, difficulties and key points of the theme “High Quality Development of Economic Forests”.

(2) 2018 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry

On November 15-16, 2018, the 2018 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry was held in Central South University of Forestry and Technology in Changsha. The theme was “Economic Forest and Rural Revitalization”.

At the Conference, 52 academic lectures were organized. Feng Jiaping, and Dr. Keith Woeste, Research Geneticist of North Research Center of USDA Forest Service, and Professor of Forestry and Natural Resources Department, respectively delivered the invited lectures themed “Current Situation and Main Direction of Economic Forest Development in China”, and “Breeding American Chestnut for Resistance to Chestnut Blight”; 19 experts including Zhang Jianguo and Chen Yongzhong delivered the keynote lectures; 9 representatives including Guan Tianqiu delivered the special lectures on the “economic forest industry development forum”; 22 graduate students delivered the special lectures on the “graduate student forum”. A total of 127 academic papers were received and nearly 400 representatives attended the Conference.

(3) 2017 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry

On August 24-27, 2017, the 8th Member Representative Conference and 2017 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry were held in Northeast Forestry University in Harbin. The theme was “Industrial Development of Economic Forest and Under-forest Economy”.

Zhou Lijun, Director of the Economic Forest and Flower Management Division of the Afforestation Department of the State Forestry Administration, delivered the lecture themed “Development Situation and Policies of Economic Forest Industry in China”, and introduced the national incentive policies for the development of economic forest industry from the management perspective. The representatives were deeply enlightened and encouraged, and the economic forest will usher in the “spring of science” and “golden development period”.

At the Conference, a total of 123 academic papers were received and 34 academic lectures were organized. More than 300 researchers, scientific and technical workers and well-known entrepreneurs from agricultural and forestry universities, scientific research institutes, enterprises and institutions engaged in economic forest attended the Conference. The representatives carried out in-depth academic exchanges, freely expressed academic views, actively offered suggestions, conscientiously summarized practical experience, fully demonstrated academic achievements, and injected new impetus into the development of economic forestry.

(4) 2016 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry

On October 22-23, 2016, the 2016 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry and 30th Anniversary were held in Dujiangyan Campus of Sichuan Agricultural University. The theme was “Economic Forest Industry and Targeted Poverty Aalleviation”.

At the Conference, the “Special Contribution Award for Economic Forest” was posthumously awarded to the deceased comrade Li Baoguo, Vice President of the Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry and praised by Xi Jinping as “New-era Yugong in Taihang Mountain”, and the “Outstanding Contribution Award for Economic Forest Industry” was awarded to the older generation of 14 economic forest experts, including Hu Fangming, member of the First Council of Economic Forest Branch to recognize their important contributions to the establishment of the Economic Forest Branch and the economic forest industry in China.

At the Conference, 50 academic lectures were organized, a total of 150 academic papers were received and more than 400 representatives were present. The Conference was the largest, the most active and the most influential one compared with all the previous annual academic conferences, showing the prosperous phenomenon that the Chinese economic forest industry develops prosperously and has qualified successors in the past 30 years since the establishment of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry.

(5) 2015 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry

On November 20-22, 2015, the 2015 Academic Annual Conference of Economic Forest Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry was held in Nanjing Forestry University. The theme was “Innovation-driven Industrial Development of Economic Forest”. During the Conference, 399 representatives from all provinces of China made communication and discussion on the new situation, new problems and new tasks of economic forest industry in China. At the Conference, nearly 130 academic papers were received, 4 invited lectures, 24 keynote lectures and 12 postgraduate academic lectures were organized, and youth academic forum was held.
