(1) The 5th National Symposium on Under-forest Economy Development

On November 21-23, 2018, the 5th National Symposium on Under-forest Economy Development was held in Beijing Forestry University. The theme was “Innovative Development of Under-forest Economy in New Era” and more than 110 representatives attended the Conference.

Li Wenhua, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered the keynote lecture. Li Yucai, President of China Peony Association, Liu Tuo, Director of Forestry and Grassland Reform and Development Department of National Forestry and Grassland Administration, Researcher Chen Xingliang, Vice President and Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry , Li Long, Professor of China Agricultural University, Liu Mengjun, Professor of Henan Agricultural University, and Li Xiaobo, Chairman of Beijing Qiangyou Group, respectively delivered the invited lectures themed “Advocating Tree and Shrub and Boosting Poverty Alleviation”, “Current Situation, Existing Problems and Development Countermeasures of the Under-forest Economy Industry in China”, “Terms and Optimization Mode of the Under-forest Economy”, “Root System between Plants: From Phenomenon to Mechanism”, “Development Status of Jujube Industry and Compound Management of Jujube Farmers”, “Combination of Forestry and Agriculture, Tree and Shrub Combination, and Vigorous Development of Oil Peony Industry”.

Si Jinping, Professor of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, Liu Moucheng, Associate Researcher of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Xie Jinzhong, Researcher of Subtropical Forestry Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Forestry, made expert reports at the Symposium.

(2) The 4th China Peak Forum on Under-forest Economy Development

On June 13-15, 2017, the Chinese Society of Forestry held the 4th China Peak Forum on Under-forest Economy Development in Yueqing City, Zhejiang Province. At the Forum, the discussions were made around the theme of “Under-forest Economy and Industry Enriching People” and focusing on the theory and policy research of under-forest economic development, under-forest economic industry enriching and targeted poverty alleviation, accurate improvement of forest quality and under-forest economic model, development history and culture of under-forest economy, circulation and certification services of under-forest economic products, new mode of under-forest economy- forest health, and the development countermeasures of Dendrobium officinale industry, etc. More than 200 representatives attended the Forum.

Zhao Shucong, President of Chinese Society of Forestry , delivered a keynote lecture themed “Forest Recuperation and New Discovery of Forest Value”. Professor Wu Hong, Chairman of Zhejiang Forestry Society, Qin Luping, Professor of School of Pharmacy, the Second Military Medical University, Liu Zhongjian, Professor of Key Laboratory of Orchid Plant Protection and Utilization in Shenzhen, and Si Jinping, Professor of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University respectively delivered the invited lectures themed “Science and Technology Changes Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains into Invaluable Assets”, “Biological Research and Application of Endophytes in Medicinal Plants”, “Orchid Plants and Under-forest Economy” and “Rresearch Progress of Material Medica and Cultivation Technique of Dendrobium Officinale” ; 11 people including Wu Xueqian, Professor of Research Center of TCM Health Food of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University, Liu Yuanqiu, Professor of Forestry College of Jiangxi Agricultural University, and Ying Guohua, Professor Senior Engineer of Lishui Forest Science Research Institute, made exchange reports.

After the meeting, the participants visited Zhenji Under-forest Plantation Base of Zhejiang Tiefengtang Technology Co., Ltd. and Plantation Base of Zhejiang Juyoupin Biotechnology Co., Ltd. to have a deep understanding of the development situation of Dendrobium officinale industry in Yueqing City.

(3) The 3rd China Peak Forum on Under-forest Economy Development

On July 15-17, 2016, Chinese Society of Forestry held the 3rd China Peak Forum on Under-forest Economy Development in Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province. Chen Xingliang, Vice President and Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry , Yang Chuanping, President of Northeast Forestry University, Gao Huan, Secretary of Yichun Municipal Party Committee and Director of Standing Committee of Municipal People’s Congress, Yang Chao, Head of State-owned Forest Farm and Tree Seedling Work Station of State Forestry Administration, and more than 200 representatives attended the Forum.

Professor Yang Chuanping, President of Northeast Forestry University, Yang Chao, Director of State-owned Forest Farm and Tree Seedling Work Station of State Forestry Administration, Wang Wei, Executive Deputy Director of Science and Technology Development Research Center of State Forestry Administration, and Yin Tong, Deputy Director of Science and Technology Administration Office of Heilongjiang Provincial Forestry Department, respectively delivered the invited lectures themed “Current Situation of Industrial Development of Under-forest Economy in Heilongjiang Province”, “Forest Tourism Is the Best Way to Change Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains into Invaluable Assets”, “Forest Certification Helps Non-wood Forest Products Enter International market”, and “Analysis on the Development of Heilongjiang Forestry Industry from the Perspective of High-proportion State-owned Economic Structure”; ten people, including Feng Caiyun, Senior Engineer of Chinese Society of Forestry and Dr. Xiong Lichun of School of Economics and Management of Beijing Forestry University, made exchange reports.

After the forum, the participants attended the opening ceremony of the main session of 2016 China (Northeast Asia) Forest Expo and visited the Forest Expo to deeply understand the development of the types and prices of under-forest economic products, etc.

(4) The 2nd China Peak Forum on Under-forest Economy Development

On October 31-November 2, 2015, the Chinese Society of Forestry held the 2nd China Peak Forum on Under-forest Economy Development and Under-forest Economic Products Exhibition in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province. Chen Xingliang, Vice President and Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry  and Executive Vice President of Under-forest Economy Branch, Wu Hong, Chairman of Zhejiang Forestry Society, Yang Lianqing, Deputy Director of State-owned Forest Farm and Tree Seedling Work Station of State Forestry Administration, and more than 130 representatives attended the Forum.

Professor Yang Chuanping, Researcher Chen Xingliang, Deputy Director Yang Lianqing, Miao Guangping, Director of Rural Forestry Reform and Development Department of State Forestry Administration, Liu Moucheng, Deputy Director of Resource Ecology and Biological Resources Research Office of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Si Jinping of Zhejiang Agriculture and Forestry University respectively delivered the invited lectures themed “Necessity and Strategy for the Development of Under-forest Economic Industry in Heilongjiang Province”, “Sustainable Forest Management and Under-forest Economic Development”, “Development Status and Trend of Forest Park and Forest Tourism in China”, “Having Invaluable Assets together with Lucid Waters and Lush Mountains- Under-forest Economy Ushers in Important Development Opportunity”, “Protection and Development of Forest and Fruit Agricultural Cultural Heritage”, “Research and Application Progress of Key Technologies of Dendrobium Officinale Industrialization”; and 10 experts made special reports.

Before the forum opening, the participants attended the opening ceremony of the 8th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair, and visited the Forest Food Exhibition Area of the Forest Expo to deeply understand the types and prices of under-forest economic products. After the forum, the representatives took car to the Dendrobium Officinale Plantation Base of Senyu Group for site investigation.

(5) The 1st National Symposium on Under-forest Economy Development

On December 19-21, 2014, the Chinese Society of Forestry held the Inaugural Meeting of Under-forest Economy Branch and the 1st National Symposium on Under-forest Economy Development in Beihai, Guangxi. Li Wenhua, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and Researcher of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chen Xingliang, Vice President and Secretary General of Chinese Society of Forestry , An Fengjie, Inspector of Rural Forestry Reform and Development Department of State Forestry Administration, Yang Chao, Director of Rural Forestry Reform and Development Department of State Forestry Administration, and more than 200 representatives attended the Symposium.

Academician Li Wenhua delivered the invited lecture themed “Agroforestry Management and Under-forest Economy”. Inspector An Fengjie, Secretary General Chen Xingliang, Chen Xiaoming, Director of the Institute of Resources and Insects, Chinese Academy of Forestry, and Fu Jingyuan, Chairman of  Guangxi Hepu Jiayong Golden Flower Tea Development Co., Ltd., delivered the invited lectures themed “Vigorously Developing the Under-forest Economy and Realizing the Organic Unity of Ecological Forestry and People’s Livelihood Forestry”, “Analysis on the Development Prospect of Under-forest Economy”, “A Special Case of Under-forest Economy- Insect Resources and Industrialization”, and “Scientific and Technological Innovation Promoting the Development of Under-forest Golden Camellia in Hepu”. In addition, 13 experts including Zhao Zhangguang, Chairman of Zhang Guang 101 Group, Yu Ling, Director of Certification Department of Science and Technology Development Center of State Forestry Administration, Yang Hongbin, Chairman of Yunnan Ruili Qianzi Wood Industry Co., Ltd., and Du Fengguo, Dean of Forestry College of Beihua University, made special reports.

During the Symposium, the Inaugural Meeting of Under-forest Economy Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry was held, and the First Committee of Under-forest Economy Branch of Chinese Society of Forestry was elected.

After the Symposium, all participants went to the Under-forest Plantation Demonstration Base of Jiayong Golden Flower Tea Development Co., Ltd. in Sikang Town, Hepu County for site investigation.
